So yes, obviously when you mention the name of Las Vegas, the first thing that comes to mind is the casinos! Of course, Sin City has built its reputation on the numerous casinos that have been established there, each one more luxurious and excessive than the other. But the entertainment capital of the world has much more to offer its visitors than just gambling establishments. At All Las Vegas, we have prepared a top 5 list of the best things to do in Las Vegas, besides going to the casino!

After experiencing the excess and luxury of the many casinos, it is normal that you want to get away from it all and recharge your batteries in the middle of nature. And that’s entirely possible in Las Vegas, which has one of the most magnificent places in the world: the Grand Canyon. There are several ways to do this: day trips are available by car or even by helicopter, which you can fly over from Las Vegas. Or better yet, you can fly over it from the famous SkyWalk, which gives you the sensation of walking in the void.

#2 – Death Valley

In the tradition of the Grand Canyon, Death Valley offers you a total change of scenery, only two hours from Las Vegas. Behind this name, which may sound scary, is actually one of the most beautiful national parks in the United States.

Museum lovers will be delighted to visit the Mafia museum. The museum is most interesting as it very accurately depicts the controversial relationship between the world of organized crime and law enforcement in the historical context of Las Vegas and the United States as a whole.

Located in an old federal building in the city, the strength of this museum lies in its realism, sometimes very raw. You can find exploded skulls, numerous accounts of murders or even sit in a real electric chair!

#4 – Attend one of the many shows

Of course, since Las Vegas is known as the entertainment capital of the world, there are plenty of shows and events you can attend. And there will be something for everyone!

After more than a decade of residency at Caesars Palace, the legend Celine Dion will have a brand new show starting in November at Resorts World. But you can also attend a magic show or the magnificent “O” show by the mythical Cirque du Soleil. If you are more attracted to sporting events, the MGM Grand is known to host the most beautiful boxing posters!

#5 – Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam on Arizona and Nevada border.

Located only 45 minutes from Las Vegas, the Hoover Dam is a real must-see for tourists, as it attracts no less than a million a year!

Built in the 1930s, it was originally used to regulate the flow of the Colorado River and thus produce electricity. Its water retention also allowed the creation of Lake Mead.  The dam is also known in popular culture, having appeared in several movies, such as San Andreas or the first part of the Transformers saga, and even in video games, including Fallout: New Vegas where it plays a major role.
